      Hi all,

I don't have AC, I just open and close the windows/sunroof.

Even if you had it it wouldn't get turned on, ya tight Yorkshire git.

          Ey up Si,

When I first got my truck I tried the AC and it
nearly stalled the engine. first thought was OPEN WINDOW,
followed by closely by CLOSE WALLET!!!

          Gman.

doesn't the air con reduce mpg? In my country, fuel is a bit expensive, so I have never used air con except long travels plus the cool air comin out smells kinda dusty (i have removed the ac rad for more air flow for my rad). Hot season is coming soon and i'm not gonna put it back on. The windows and back door window are just enough.

I know that you are all dying to know what happened

Hose crimp had crack on return end ,carried out official TOYOTA repair with no less than two hose clamps.(my local toyota outlet quoted £137.56+vat and 2-3 week delivery time)
Pressure tested and vacced out to below 1.5 Torr and regassed with R134a 850 grms.
Cab went from a sweaty 33'C to a ice cold 13'C.That is what I do.

I'm here all week thank you very much

Although my A/C is disconnected, I would refuse to use it and continue to enjoy the sunny weather with all the windows open and the sunroof.
I know we won't have it for that much longer
                Still Can't believe I own a Hilux

If that's US dollar, it's roughly half the cost of fuel in the uk.
If it's in birr, then the cost of a gallon is roughly 120 birr per gallon.
                        Non intercooled nothing.

wow, thought it was much cheaper out there.
                          1ltr diesel ~ 18birr
                          1ltr petrol ~ 22birr

1 gallon (uk) diesel cost somewhere around 80birr.

We had the aircon blasting out, for the 2.5hr journey back from Devon to Kiddy, hell, we even put the radio on, had daytime running lights ALL THE WAY, and used the wipers several times to wipe the bugs off the screen.

                            And still averaged 48mpg....

                            In the 1.5 diesel Migraine....

I used to hate it, but it has its benefits!

                              Hi Wolfracer,

I don't use the wipers to clean the bugs off,
can't go fast enough to squish the little bleeders,
they just bounce off the screen.
                              Still doing 24 mpg

                              Gman.
If it aint broke, keep goin' till it is.
