Our friend used to clear anti personnel mines and lost a number of fingers plus the use of his hands when one went off. They had stacked one on top of the other, but for some reason the other he mised most of the blast. Also disfigured his face but at least he lived to tell the tale. What makes people want to do this type of job?
APMs are the worst type as they are only meant to maim people. nothing worse that lying there hearing your mate crying out in pain and knowing that you cannot help!Comment
