Fuel pump handle on wrong side of pump picture in fuel gauge? Aftermarket kit after all...

    Or...

    It's got no fuel?
    The speedo doesn't work (it's in D)?
They key doesn't go in very far?
White dials are just WRONG in this day and age?

Electronic trip, gear display on dash; my '98 has neither of these.

Although that one is much prettier and better spec'd than mine.

Looks like it's had some action on the back corner...

              No thanks.

I noticed that. There are, IIRC, two positions in normal Surfs: Cool, and New Head.

Yes, but that is not a "normal" Surf. Its one of those "abnormal" but desirable petrol jobbies. I thought the temp gauge sat a bit high, but could not comment on it, as this may be a normal running position on the petrol version. I have only ever owned the sluggish and smelly diesel versions.

As Bogus says - no sign of 4WD or low ratio/diff locks. That might surprise the new owner come the first snowfall.

You're all wrong. The multifunction gauge on the superior petrol version is merely informing you that the doors are open!
