  • Noise canceling headphones

Does anyone use these? I've been looking at some online and had the pleasure of trying a friend at works ones. I like how they can remove residual noise from an area. The first time I used them it felt as though my ears were sucked from my head.
These were the usual large headphone cup type. They were expensive and when you turn the volume up sound can be heard by other people nearby. The same with the "beats" manufacture type - also an expensive brand.

I noticed there are some in-ear type noise canceling ones. Are these as effective as the cup type? Plus they're generally cheaper!
    Oh Nana, what's my name?

Thanks for the links. Was just trying to find some Sennheiser noise canceling type on Amazon.

    The beats headphones are rubbish!

Beyer DT100s or any Sennheiser full cans are pretty good for noise cancellation. Use them in the studio a lot. For IEMs, you wont get any decent cancellation without bespoke moulds, and that can start to get expensive.

I think the original poster is refering to active noise cancellation, not passive!

I tried a pair of the Bose ones in HMV, it was brilliant, I couldn't hear the other half at all....

Thanks for your advice and responses. Yes I'm looking for the headphones which play back the residual wavelengths (noise) out of phase to cancel out.
