When I got my first new car,a Chrysler Avenger( I was only young)this cassette player was about the best you could get for in car entertainment, and you only had long and medium wave then on a radio,

Oh for the good old days, diesel was about 35p a GALLON

                C.D. access port

You beat it to a pulp, bash it with a big hammer till it is roughly the shape of a cassette and shove it in that little hole on the front,Proper job

P.S., just brought something to mind, anyone remember an item available at around the same era, about 10"x9"x5" crappy plastic with a handle on the top,it was a 45rpm record player, worked off batteries, could be fitted under your car sear, went doolally every time you went over a bump.

                Oh happy days !!
