Does any one know of a good place to get M6 phillips screws with a small/reduced head? I've had a look on the internet and, so far, I've only found Mr Wu in Shanghai, who's got a minimum order of 20,000. That's more than I need.

M6 set screws with both Hex (Allen) heads and crosshead are available through Screwfix. Try these for starters.

They look a little bigger than I need, hard to tell from the pictures though. They're the ones that hold the two halves of the fluid coupling, and the heads are only about 2/3 of the size of a standard m6 screw. Probably ought to be brass ones too. Thanks for the suggestion though!

Heh... it would help if I knew the right search term to use. I had tried that but 'small head m6 screw' only brought up one result, for the bargain price of 9.95. Screwfix don't seem to have them, and neither do my local ironmongers.Originally posted by Karma Supra View PostJust type the size into Ebay...

I had to do this for some torx machine screws to hold my steering wheel onto the boss adaptor - worked well.Originally posted by Apache View PostDare say you could machine standard M6 screws to the head size you require if you know anyone with a modelling lathe.
How many screws are you after? Happy to turn some down for you.

Cheers for the help guys, got it sorted now though! Turns out that the screws are Japanese Industrial Standard, having looked again a standard M6 does fit ok. I had presumed that the smaller heads were functional, but turns out that small heads are just how they roll over there. It seems that when I checked the fit originally, I'd hastilly checked against the wrong half of the coupling
