Heya folks,
Well my last posts were all in the decision phase and it's been a little while but I bought the surf, 99 2.7 petrol. Pretty happy with it so far and thought some of you may enjoy reading about my trip last Friday,
Well loaded up the surf to the brim with 2 lads from work plus all our tools and some light camping gear. Heavy double axle 6m trailer loaded with just short of a ton of steel reservoir components, and off we go. Surf towed well, not much oompf but wasn't terrible. 450 km later we get to the farm we need to install and chap says 20 km to the left, off the road into the kalahari, well I was a bit scared, popped the 4x4 didn't lock hi range just engaged all 4.
Well that surf did ###### well, 20 km through sand, wasn't too heavy but there was patches off oh shite moments but it pulled through no drama.
So guess just to put a positive petrol moment out there. Love the car.
Can't wait for some time off to go proper bushwhacking.
