That's a bit of a rare beast. Never seen one and not sure there are many around. That kind of money for a Rover was never going to work....

I saw one once, maybe 4 years ago... Always thought they looked pretty cool, but no idea what they were really like...

Ah...the triton powered MG. Not only is that v8 shit, but really badly made.
                  Non intercooled nothing.

Who ever thought of it should be applauded though.

It was stunning concept, "Lets toss a V8 in a old Rover"

                    Fantastic.

Technically, it was an old Qvale Mangusta with a different body....

                        Yeah. Saved MG did that.

                        Oh... hang on...

No, it was another ridiculous idea by a car maker who'd lost the plot.

MG also made an estate with a Ford V8 from a Mustang. When you open the bonnet there's even a horse emblem. I know it's a Rover, and my ex boss dropped his back at the showroom and refused to touch it for things such as rear doors opening on their own driving round a roundabout with kids strapped in the back, and other bits falling off - but I bet it would be fun to drive.

That would be a ZT 260 (ZT-T being the estate). For all their displacement, they weren't very quick bit did sound lovely. They needed to change to RWD to fit the engine in, which kind of cocked up the dynamics too.

As Gra said, the big problem was using the Ford Triton engine, which seems like an odd thing to do, especially if your company has been making a smaller, better V8 for 50 years.

They did a couple of ZT 385s, which were supercharged 260s. They would have been a bit of a giggle - they still hold the land speed record for an estate car.

yeah there was a v8 estate following The one on the m6 seemed a bit miffed by the dyno van getting in between them there was another mg behind then aswell but looked old-time
