I'd describe the roads as varied. The last big hill I climbed in the Brecon Beacons before dropping down to Vince's place must have used 1/8th tank of fuel!
If that's the hill i'm thinking of then i towed a 1t trailor with a surf on up there with my old 3.0 2nd gen.I got virtually to the top when i had to pull in as the temp and atf were very very hot.
Gotta say that was some big hill

If mine had a v8 I wouldn't give a monkies what I got to the gallon.
If its not broke don't fix it.

There's something wrong with the engine then.

Driving around Somerset and Burnham on Sea with a trip to Minehead and back along country roads with no chance of getting up to 50mph, we averaged over 27mpg which I think is pretty good.
