In your case I would budget in a big service unless you know its been done.
All Oils and filters around £100 max
New coolant/thermostat and rad cap £100 max with Toyota parts
Possible Cambelt with the possibility of a £30 tensioner pulley if its tired.
The starter contacts WILL die if they've never been changed at 200000km 1 hour/£20
Since I have bought my truck I have spent about £350 on servicing and making it faultless.
I wouldn't worry too much about it needing rear springs the job is around £200 all in.
it is a bit out of my league, i need one standard height because i will be carrying dogs in the back and unless they are cross kangaroo they wouldn't get into a lifted one
thank all of you for your input it is definaltey honing my view of what is good and not. so i should be able to avoid the lemons
that does look like an absolute sorted vehicle... im worried about the lift though.... standart height looks to be about the limit for the pooches...
keith is my idol.... POTATO!
Why not take a look at petrol 2.7 3rd gens? You can occasionally stumble across a proper bargain as they're not so common as the 3.0 so people are a bit unsure of them.
