The one on my dad's trailer is pretty good. When I get chance I'll pop over to his house and take some photos of it for you. Won't be for a week or two though cos I'm heading off to visit the in-laws for a few days.

It is basically a curved "arch" kinda shape at the front and rear of the trailer with a wooden frame built to join the two arches together and provide the solidity required and some thin plywood bent over it all to provide a solid cover. Bit of varnish, etc, and you're sorted.

Sorry if you're in a rush to see the pics but I probably won't see my dad for a week or so while I'm out & about but I'll try to remember to get some when I get chance!

    HTH.

      Hi Rusti

In no great rush so if you get the chance, great. Will use it with a plastic cover on the first trip then work out what I need or be inspired!!

      Thanks

I have seen a few roof tents used on trailers and just lately there have been a few on eBay. These have had pics showing some great ideas on the use of the trailer....maybe even google images of expedition ones?
        .... Which was nice.

Hey Kev. I think It may have been Vince, who posted a link to a U.S. site, just recently, that specialised in trailer mods, conversions and projects....Cheers....Mick.

I have a great wee trailer, made by the TANKS AND DRUMS COMPANY.
Not as big as yours but even for it's size it swallows loads of gear because it can be packed to use the lid shape as well, very easy to tow.

Indispension units allow it to travel very gently and it stays outside still packed all year, never lets a drop of water in.

A lid from a roofbox thats fairly big might be a good start, or find a local supplier who can make one-off fibreglass products.
