  • Insurance.......again!

Adrian Flux are asking for six, recent colour photos of our third gen, plus agreed milage and value declarations before they can 'process' the renewal documents. They've taken this years payment in full already by the way, and say they won't be able to continue cover beyond the 29th of this month if the outstanding items are not returned.!!

Anyone else been asked for photos of thier truck?

What the hell has happened to AF? They used to be efficient, no problem, insurance agents who were extremely helpful. Now, judging by their ever rising prices and weird demands, it looks like they don't want our custom.

Come on guys, you're a site sponsor, cut us a little slack here!

Had to send pics of the Westfield, but not Surf yet.

They are still cheapest and easiest for me.

A few pics was no hassle, I forgot and got a text saying they where going to cancel as 'important documents not recieved', but a quick phone call and it was sorted and sent pics at first chance.

It's no problem sending the photos, after all, who doesn't like seeing photos of our lush 3rd gen? But why ask for them after taking the policy payment in full and after two years of being insured with them?

Looking at the e-mail, it just seems like a scam to me to clone my truck, i.e. Photos of the vehicle showing exterior, interior and reg. number??

Anyway, I've asked them why and if they actually know what my truck should look like including the engine.

They did only used to ask for pics of anything modified, stock trucks/car they didn't bother.

My old man has a couple of classics (all factory) he has to take pics every year...

              A pain in the arse!

I wonder if they would notice if we sent the same ones?

We have the Jimny with AF. We phoned, got price then paid.

However,2 weeks later we got a letter saying they need pics, from all exterior angles, engine bay, interior, winches etc. We sent it off never heard anythin back. Untill another 2 weeks later, they called to say they lost our stuff and if we did not supply details within 1 week they were going to stop the cover on our truck !!!!

With premiums going up of late, i hate to think what the cost will be this year

I'm with AF and the 1st time I insured I had to send pics. Never had to send new ones even when I added 33's / bodylift etc to the policy.

Got my quote from Tesco this year and the premium had gone up about £50 compared to last year (that's about a 15% rise). Put my details into that site that's advertised by that spikey haired girl that can't sing and the best quote was about £15 MORE than Tesco, despite the claims that it can save you money.

Really scary thing though, when it listed all the quotes, it told me Tesco would not quote!, along with about 30 other insurers.

I also think the no claims is a con....

I'm with Admiral for both of mine... 10 years NCB on the M3.. but I'm not allowed to use that on the truck, - even if I used a "multicar" policy. luckily you can pick up an old no clims bonus as long as it is within two years, so I had a "spare" 7 years to use...

The other real con right now is, did you realise you premium goes up if you have a claim on someone else's policy? Even if you are hit and it is proved to be the ather parties fault. (I am not sure if all companies do this, but all the EUI underwritten ones do)

Another mild irritation, EUI class teh surf as a commercial vehicle, as such if you are fully comp you are no longer covered to drive other vehicles!

Sponsor or not I don't know why you stick with a company that creates so much hassle, I get good rates, full no claims, and no problems from A - Plan insuring 3 vehicles, 2 japanese imports( thatcham) and a smart car (local).

I am insured with Flux. Thought I would give Churchill a go, but there website did not recognize my reg. number, so phoned them and eventually sorted out a quote with the correct vehicle spec which was £100 more than my current Flux renewal price. Will be phoning Flux tomorrow to ask what all this messing about with wanting photos after taking renewal money is all about. Will let you all know what they have to say. Did mention to Churchill about requiring photos of vehicle, but they had never come across any insurance company doing that, and thought it a very strange request.
