Anyone re-registered a UK-imported Surf for European use?

Hi,

I recently bought a Surf in the UK, but as I'm living in France I want to get it re-registered over here. This involves getting a 'carte grise' document, which in turn requires a certificate of conformity to ensure the car is fit for French roads (stop tittering at the back, there).

Anyway, has anyone had experience of doing this, and/or getting a certificate of conformity from Toyota? By all accounts the process is usually quite straightforward, but I fear it may be a little more tricky for a Japanese import...
