Is there a metal which is cheaper than titanium, harder than aluminium, corrosion resistant and capable of being milled rather than cast?

It depends what you want to use it for mate. Off the top of my head I can think of brass, or bronze.

He said metal, Henry. The material to which you refer, was utilised in the manufacture of Trabant body panels..........Cheers....Mick.

An interesting one. Only problem with that is that some people react to it.

                  And its name is?

On the other suggestions -stainless is good but maybe a little too heavy. Bronze is, I think, too soft. Brass is a possibility but isn't usually milled (as far as I know, although I could be talking out of my arse). It also dulls too quickly.

Didn't mean to be enigmatic, by the way, it's for a guitar part.

use 316 grade stainless - it machines lovely - shines like chrome - super hard wearing and its no heavier than brass or bronze bearing in mind its very strong so thinner parts can be made.

Don't you all think he is being a bit enigmatic?

Does that make you enigmatical? or an enigmatisist?

No, he can practice the guitar in a freezer cold room at his local Tesco.
