Anyone else got one of these ?

Had the surf for over a month now and thought it was time to clear the mountain of cr@p out of the passenger footwell.
While doing this i noticed this red cylinder under the dash, cant read the writing on it but judging by the pictures its some kind of flare.
Dont want to set it off as it could come in handy for the looming visit to the highlands, on the other hand it could just be some kind of light and be useless if stuck in the depths of some forest.
Is it some kind of standard fitting if so has anyone had a go ?

They all have them, its a roadside flare, officially it should be removed on import as its 'explosive', needs to handed in to plod, blaa, blaa....etc.....

Just set it off at night, its fun but not that impressive.

I normally wait till I have 3 or 4 and set them off together in the garden.

It's a chemical flare - I think they're illegal in this country (for car use) I had one in mine but it was out of date and i wasn't sure about using it - so I gave it to Jotto!

they come in all jap imports iv had 2 flares out of all the imports iv owned
there normally takin out wen a cars bein exported from japan

With all the cctv around these days he's bound to get nicked - first put on a ski mask, nick a trials bike, do the deed and ride like feck before they work out what's happened ...

Personally I think flares are pretty much naff - four thunderflashes strapped together would be much more impressive !
