Where's the fun in buying a hilux pickup? Plus, the surf doesn't have leaf spring suspension. It's a bit more refined than the hilux.
Bushwacker, if I use the standard back window runner, ie, chop the back bit of the back off and reweld it further forward, will the window not fit then? I hope you can make sense of that.
I will be camera happy when I do go for it and not to worried about losing fingers, I'm already missing my right thumb after a horsey mishap!

You can still use the window and the rear section of the body, but it's too narrow to just weld back in place behind the rear doors. So you'll have to taper the metalwork in to meet the window section.
If you look down on the Surf from above you'll see that the roof is narrower at the back.
Chop off the back window section and position it behind the rear doors, you'll see what I mean.
Alternatively, chop the rear doors in half vertically and make an extra cab pick-up with a fixed or sliding back window, looks much better.
