  • ???? grease

Just got outer track rod ends for the truck. When I have come to fit them there is a warning inside saying to fill them with grease when fitted. there is no grease nipple! The man in the know at roughtrax is away they are trying to find an answer. Would anyone here know if they need greasing and how I grease them? thanks

The ones I got recently (from R/T) had grease nipples in the plastic bag with the joints. They were not already fitted. Have a really good look in the packaging - they are small.

Mine came with grease nipples fitted but no warning about filling with grease, there was some already in there.

        I'll give them a squirt I think!

        Thanks,

        Ray.
I've got a plan and it's as hot as my pants!

They're different to the ones I got from R/T about 4 months ago. On mine, the shiny base disc had a threaded hole for a nipple. Also the taper part of the joint and castellated nut were shiny. Yours appear to have a black anti seize/corrosion coating. Yours appear to be "sealed for life" type (a backward step if ever there was one).
Either R/T have changed supplier, or they are not Surf ball joints. Have you checked the package part numbers with R/T?
