Well if he is a member, hes going to love me for this. I saw it on ebay yesterday, and if you consider that it probably needs a new head, that the interior is grubby, and the other little jobs that need doing, its really not that cheap at all.

Sounds like the head has gone. Same symptoms as mine had before it finally blew the coolant pipes off. Around £800 to spend on it to fix + lots of time - not such a bargain.
Given the tatty interior, dodgy pwer steering, need for new driveshafts etc, I think that there is a pretty good chance that it has been clocked as well.

I'd be thinking about a grand ? And that's as a motor for yourself, not to sell on at profit.

Hmmm........ Its a bit of a dog. I'm always very wary of "Cheap fixes". If its such a cheap fix, why doesn't the seller fix it himself?

£2250 + £900 for a good new head (DIY, £1500 if garage), + hours of work to get it presentable. It doesn't look that cheap to me considering that £3.5k will buy you an absolute minter, one to avoid methinks

                I wouldn't dare buy it.

                Its "GAY" blue.
If its not broke don't fix it.
