there was actually toyota red in it but it was mixed wit water
the stuff i got is pre mixed i use it in my track car an that takes ALOT of abuse
an never had any over heatin issues wat so ever

Can you qualify this please?; with verifiable, external, references, not just opinions.
Do you know that, with a 50 character limit, it's

I do, have done (trouble free) for many years. Plus I get ####ed off with all the Halfords bashing that goes on.

However, I am willing to accept that the Halfords stuff is crap, if I see proper proof. Otherwise, we have to accept that there's nothing wrong with it.

I can't offer any diffinitive proof other than my own experiences with the own brand coolant /water mix and the company ready mixed stuff, coinsidental or not I have always had coolant componant problems with the mix it yourself stuff .ie pumps, pipes, rads etc, unlike the coolant that is designed to suit the metals, plastics and rubber componants within the cooling system. For instance Toyota cooling systems should only use ethylene-glycol based coolants with a mixture ratio 44% to 68% anti freeze, it is not recommended that 100% anti freeze is ever used in a system as it will cause the formation of cooling system deposits, this can result in temperatures of over 150 deg c (which can melt plastics)and has a freeze point of only -22 deg c.
Propylene - glycol coolant has a smaller temp range than the ethylene-glycol based coolant and can cause the destabilisation of various corrosion inhibitors, also should the two be mixed together the specific gravity will be different from the ethylene-glycol only coolant giving incorrect freeze point calculations.
Regardless of all this waffle I only use toyota coolant made by/for toyota for their engines, if your happy with what you use then who am I to argue.

Temperatures won't get that high anyway, thats what pressure caps on the radiators are for.

              Thats just marketing/Wiki crap!

That information came from a technical paper published by toyota, which to my knowledge has never been disputed or challenged by any other manufacturer/suppliers so I know who I would rather believe, more so than sceptics.

                  As I said, marketing crap.

You'll probably find the same sort of 'technical paper' from other maunfacturers.

Do you think an engine's cooling system is that sophisticated it needs special anti-freeze? The Surf's diesel engine is just a bored out lump of iron.
