  • 3rd Gen Stereo Fitters!

Looking for a few tips here gents. I went to fit my double din stereo / sat nav unit this morning but found that the double din adapter, that is fitted at the moment, appears to be behind the centre console (indicated by arrows in the pic).

How do you remove the centre column (the fake wood bit) without causing any damage? It's to damn cold to be outside for long, so any help would be greatly appreciated!

The surround unclips from the bottom where it meets the surround for the gear selector.Just prise it up gently and it will be ok.There's no screws from what i remember from doing mine

It's easier if you remove the trim from the gearstick surround first, but Rich is right, just pulls off.

Much easier than the nightmare of the 2nd gen dash!

theres actually two screws in behind the heater control cover wit the logos for the different settings..that cover pops off the heater controls if you pop the slider switches off then you'll see the screws jus undo them an the rest jus pops out of the dash...you'll have to pop the gear stick surround up as well but its all fairly easy

I was struggling until I realised that there must be something else holding the console in place. Luckily the heater control cover popped out and I noticed the screws!

Anyhoo, it's fitted and working without anything snapping off and no screws left over.

BTW I know the clock on the stereo is wrong, I'm going out to reset it now.
