Very interested in this as mine were made from old sieves...or more acurately, now resemble old sieves!

                Design issues are another matter:
                Stupid handbrake
                Useless clock
                Misplaced cup holder
Dodgy electrical wiring at the doors and tailgate
                Gearbox cooler
                Overly complicated electronics
I don't think the electronics are overly complicated. I find the heater and A/C are quite straight forward. However, if there was a scale on complicatedness with 1 being least and 5 being very complicated I would rate the things like indicators and horn at a 3.8.

All depends on mileage and climate temperature. I'd have thought it should of had one just before the beginning of the temperature drops.

You're the second person to tell me this, this week. I'm sure my mums Vauxhaull Astra has it though? I didn't know this fact of course.

I think the tailgate setup is cool. Most things go in from just putting the window down anyway.

The cup holder is in the right place. Coffee cup sits at a nice height with the right amount of support for the cup. If you need to constantly look at your heater controls (????) then don't use it.

"The dash is cheap and nasty." The dash is 15-20 years old! I'd say it is spot on for it's era.

I haven't had my Surf long but I think they are f**king great. Different.

Agree with Judwak on the V8. One of them 1uzfe's just tops it off nicely
