Don't know if it's reached other areas yet but here in the Newcastle / Gateshead area the latest vandal craze is to snap or steal number plates. I see more and more vehicles each day with plates snapped or missing.

Mindless little b@stards that are doing this should have their fingers sliced off!

number plate are the best things for brakeing into car after a set of fingers that is
i aint even saying how its done
but its theres a lot of snaped number plates you can bet they are trying to get in the cars
not all cars can be gotten in to this way but a lot can

i have never looked at a surf to see if they can be done or not

Another one is when getting low on petrol pull a numberplate off someone`s car, stick it on yours, go fill up and do a runner. its one of the ways the scallies deal with the price of juice in this part of the world
