Gen 3 versions and spare wheel location

I'm considering going for a Gen 3 Surf TD and I've noticed that some models have the spare wheel mounted underneath and some have it mounted on the tailgate.Does anyone know which models have which and what the other model differences are?
Won't bore you with the details, but I need the one that has the wheel underneath....

There's no specific model number, just depends which box the original owner ticked on the options list.

I've seen something about them being available with a Recaro interior, I guess that's the same.
Seems to be a pretty reliable thing, will look into it further.

Best thing to do is to go see them. Unfortunately, most that come up for sale are in England, so it's a bit of a trek for us. If you see one you like, ask a forum member to go look at it before you commit to going to see it yourself.

There's several engine choices, but the most common ones on here are the 3.0 turbo diesel, 3.0 turbo diesel intercooled and the 2.7 petrol.
There's a 3.4 petrol too but not many of them about.

I've only ever seen one 3rd gen with a Recaro interior. The 'Hens Teeth' model!

No problem, doesn't worry me too much. I deviated away from Toyota over the last 18 months and regretted it. Looking forward to getting back into one again...
