    Yeah, probably some kind of frame for a shed or the like. If you're near an industrial area, the most common reason for finding that sort of thing in London is bomb shelters.

                        I thank you. As I said, you find one in pretty much every garden in London as soon as you put a spade in the ground, so it's what my mind goes to as soon as someone says they found a big bit of old metal whilst digging.

                        I didn't know people up north spent the best part of three years sitting in metal sheds too, though.

                              up here we are still finding ww2 bombs unexploded

                              sheffield was hit badly in the war rotherham got it too
                              most the metal works was here and not sheffield
                              the big ones in sheffield are sat on ower boarder

                              so we got it quite badly

                              rotherham invented industeal metal works and moved it to the sheeffields because there was no room in rotherham left for another industery


                              i even have some ww2 shells that i have found
