boring but just 4 in total, and a nice balanced marginal spread of criminal intent. I think it time to put the house on the market. The link to the police map must have added at least £5000 to the price

Only 16 in my neck of the woods, I live right on the edge of our estate and then it's miles of countryside after that. Of the 16 occurences 8 were for anti social behaviour (kids drinking in an old dilapitated cow shed on one of the country lanes).

mine has 12, old address has 12, so why did my car insurance more than double,only one car crime and that was near my old address

I personally think the sites a waste of time.
The HOCR & NCRS try to standardise how crime and incidents are recorded but some still get recorded differently by each force. So the stats may not really be a true record of each individual crime.
For info any assault is recorded as violent crime, so pushing someone over is common assault. Its crimed as a violent crime same as ABH, GBH, wounding with intent. So the stats, for violent crime can seem a lot worse than they actually are.

I also think that when it comes to selling a house your house price could suddenly go down due to this site as well as your house & car insurance go up because of it.

Because it takes into account everything on a given road. Lets say you live at the end of a road wheres theres no trouble your end and its got a pub or night club at the other end of a street or just round the corner.
All the crime, anti social behaviour etc from that premises will be attributed to your road not that specific premises.

Take Albert road North & South in Watford. Albert Road North has 702 crimes in its catchment area where the road itself only has 2 actual crimes.
Where as Albert road south has 683 crimes in its catchment area and the road itself 135 crimes. Thats 133 more than Albert road North but on the face of it Albert Road North looks a worse place to live???
