If that's the case, why did you oppose the strikers and escort the trucks out at the last strike?
You talk big but do as you are told.
You of all people should have refused to be what amounts to a SCAB!

Pah, I forget you are a youngster!!

TV AM had a strike, and our Ulrika broke the strike and went on as a weathergirl...
        The rest is history.

She was and still is a scab, hence the link.

Craig is a member of her majesty's armed forces, he took the Queen's shilling, it would be an act of treason to strike. He is not a scab, he like many of us followed orders

he talks Big cos he is Big !, he is a Top Man, I for one have met him, and I for one am glad he is a member of our Armed Forces.

Sorry Slobodan, but I think your calling this Guy a scab is bang out of order

There seems to be an outbreak of people taking posts on this board seriously... If it continues I am going to go on strike...

              "I was only following orders"

Yep, that works as an excuse.

No just sick of cheap snipes at members of the Armed Forces, they do their job, so we can have a moan in public, under paid under valued, situation remains the same.

So, is anyone planning on doing anything other than complaining on the internet and suggesting that lorry drivers should do all the protesting for us?

Ahhh, someone who spotted the irony.

Yes, it's a p1sser that the price of fuel is going up, but realistically, that's all it will EVER do from here on til fossil fuel runs out. Simple supply and demand, death and taxes and all that.

You can moan and bitch about it til the cows come home, and protest as much as you like, but its not going to change the price of fish. (or fuel) Suck it up or buy a smaller car. Walk more? Cycle more? Use the train?

The price of beer bothers me more TBH.

John - agree re. forces. Great lads!

(Gotta say that - I'm at Bovington later in the week and they may read this )

I think the "snipe" was tongue in cheek. If it wasn't then I agree re the forces, but then I would.

We can't do anything about the world oil price. We can only rail against the duty and tax levels our government adds.

The quickest way to make an impact would be to stop using your vehicle and therefore cut off the source of revenue (not practical for most people, but it would get the Govt's attention)

However, does the population in general care? I drove from Birmingham to Devon yesterday afternoon (first time more than 10 miles from home since November) and was absolutely staggered by the amount of traffic on the M5. The vast majority of these journeys must come under the heading of general 'recreational' use - mostly it would seem to visit out of town shopping areas so they could fill the govt purse with goods bought at 20% VAT.

Sorry, rant over, but it does seem as though most people have accepted the situation and just pay up.

I don't expect the lorry drivers to do it for us, I saw what happened the last time they tried, as I work near a fuel refinery.

I'm tied by a gaging clause in my contract, whereas if I try anything I will lose my job, and probably my license to work. I don't expect others to take a similar risk on my behalf.

It just rancles that we have some of the cheapest pre-tax fuel in Europe (it was the cheapest but I don't know if that is still valid), and yet we have one of the most expensive post-tax (we were the most expecnsive post-tax at the same time that we were the cheapest pre-tax, but I haven't kept up to date with the stats) pump prices.
