2.7 Buying (dealer) advice

A mate of mine is looking to buy a turd gen. He's seen one at AK Motors in Bolton, have any of you had any dealings with them?

Anyway, the Surf in question is the bottom one in THIS list. Does it look OK? and does it look like it has MM or Council 4wd?

First of all it's 3rd not turd gen.

Second, it does look very nice.

Third, it has Council 4WD. If the transfer lever is pulled back towards the seat then it's the same as the 2nd gen.

Multi-mode versions, the transfer lever is towards the dash when in 2WD or AWD, it's only pull back towards the seat when in low range.

I thought that too, but im sure there was someone on here argued that the petrol engines all had MM, that's why I asked.

Yes it is where I bought mine. Not all petrol are multimode. Mine isn't. MM is for girls anyway.

I reckon you'd get that for £2k if you went in hard - people are still suspicious of petrol engined Surfs. For that, its a bit of a bargain!

I seen that one on autotrader this morning and thought it was a great price. I really want a 3rd gen. If I can find someone to give me £1800 for mine at the same time as having £500 available and finding one for that price again at the same time... Not very likely and a need it for work so its the (keep saving) route for me :-( I'd snap that surf up at that price if I had the cash! If your mate has it and decides he doesn't like it give me a shout and I'll part ex it with my 2nd gen
