Gen 2 door handles

Does anyone know if the rear door handles on a Gen 2 would go straight on the front in place of the original front handles with no modifications? they look identical other than the fronts have lock barrels in them?

i couldn't say to be honest but i would of thought they would be slightly different due to the locks

hmmm... i wanted to stick 2 rear door handles on the front coz im missing my passenger lock barrel to start with and the drivers handle is cracked, therefore 2 new rear handles stuck on the front would be like delocking the car as iv got remotre central locking...

what's going to happen if the remote pack in and then your buggared.I may well have 2 front door handles and locks later this week if needed

I'd be more worried about a flat battery, no power to the rear window or the door locks.

my drivers lock is seized anyway and the passenger lock barrel missing altgether so im in the same boat now anyway if i get a flat battery. i dont really want to have different keys for the ignition and door locks coz it looks like its been stolen then and puts perspective buyers off if i ever come to sell
it. thats all im thinking...
Mind you, i did think if the battery went flat i could just hop in thru the boot but i never thought of the rear window thing! lol

Tell you what i do need tho, the 2 tiny little rubber ends off the tips of the heater slider controls? when i removed the front centre console i lost them so need a couple more, sick of endenting my thumbs when turning the heating up and down! let me know how much bud

Been there a few times, when I had battery problems last year, Andy. You should always make sure that you can still access your vehicle with a key.....Cheers....Mick.
