I had a pair of the Hella ones of the same design and ran 130W bulbs in them for ages. The relay? Well, thats up to you to source - there's none with the lamps. So you can buy suitable relays for the wattage lamps you're gonna fit.

I got these Ring ABS bodied lights for £74 at Halfords, worked perfectly for the 2 years they have been on, low profile for direct bumper mounting and don't vibrate much, been submerged plenty of times and kept the water out no problems.

Okay, better for me to spend more of the available cash on the Lightforce handheld. Going to look at the available Ring, Britax price range locally, and hopefully get some today.
The local factor only has Hella in stock, and I can get them cheaper on Fleabay.

Well, have to say, for the price, I'm not that impressed with these Lightforce Blitz 240's. They vibrate a bit at idle, the fixings are pretty cheap (a stainless bolt retained from turning by plastic mounts, and a stainless Nyloc nut). They're supplied with spot beam cover lenses, which are not the most useful, encouraging most people to by the Combo covers at around £45 -£50 per pair. No protective packaging in the box, no instructions, no wiring loom or connectors (sold separately).
The beam from the 100w bulbs is pretty powerful, but the design of the body/fixings does not lend itself to precisely orientating and securing both spots in the same plane.
I sometimes amaze myself with my own stupidity and impulsiveness..Just as well they are really farkin bright !!

Got mine fitted yesterday, I went for the 170s and their loom. The old ones were siezed on, had to take it to the tyre yard and get them to rattle them off with the air gun. I retained the placcy washers on the underside (about 40mm wide and 5mm deep) off the old lamps and they dont rattle or move. I've also got the combi covers and they work nicely.

And they are f*king bright. You can put your hand out 6 feet in front of them and feel the heat off the lamp. Might set up a sunbed franchise... They also look a lot better than the old yellow ones.

Pics to come when I clean the truck!

Can't help wondering if I'd have been better blowing less cash on some Hellas, however the ability to change lenses is good, if expensive. If I ever sell the Surf I'll be keeping these spots !

The two white dots just above the path - is that where the spots are pointing? Angle them up a bit.

The grass in front is actually a grass bank, rather than a flat field - the lamps themselves are not angled down in any way on the A-bar. Local church car park where I drop #1 son off for cubs.
