Any recommendations for replacing the standard front fogs with decent driving/spots. Highest lumens/power ideal, as they're for night offroad/lamping work. Feel free to hyperlink to suppliers doing good deals..

That's if you want to pay around £250 for them!

Jeez, decent spots are not cheap eh ? Looks like I'll be waiting for the local motor factor to get some in so I can get my healthy discount...

Aye, I think so. Local motor factor was offering Wipac 100w ones with grilles, which are around the £50 mark retail, but I get a discount off trade, so I'll wait for them I think. They'll probably get minced soon enough, so no point spending a fortune.

I refer the honorable gentleman to post 2.

£60ish a pair. Exactly the same design can be had with a Hella badge for £200.

They really are a steal, and I'm baffled as to why anyone would look elsewhere. 'Bolt On Bits' on eBay.

I mean, they are expensive for spots, you could get some Chinese ebay specials for £15 but I believe you get what you pay for with these.

                          And you did say:

Highest lumens/power ideal, as they're for night offroad/lamping work.
Lightforce also make hunting-specific handheld lamps which also got good reviews. I was in no rush to spend £190 on spots, but I did my homework and these have no complaints - the work and they last. I was considering KCs becuase I knew the name and you got them smiley covers but they are not cheap and let moisure in.

I've had a set of these on my truck for at least a year and a half and they're still like new. Fitted them with 100w bulbs.

The ones I got were branded maxtel not wipac but look exactly the same.

Jimster, I'll be using a part of the "lamping fund" to purchase a Lightforce 240 handheld. Just don't know if I can justify the cost of the driving spots, since they're so prone to damage, although they do soound pretty resilient.
The local factors give me a good discount on most items (we deal in engines/re-machining), so I'll be asking them wahat their prices are for Wipac, Hella and Ring are like before I make a move.
Those Britax ones do look good, but are they and their wiring/relay rated for bigger bulbs ?
