Have you thought about a replica kit version?

        That IS a replica.

A lovely one too. Used to work with someone who had one. It was enough to make you damp in the crotch.

Si, a decent Mk2 will cost nigh on what a Cobra kit would cost you these days! (And that makes me wet my pants too!)

Nice choice Si. I always prefered the square mk2's over the mk1s. I like those rims on that too. Wonder if they are replica RS 4 spokes as they look different but in a good way. The RS2000 I bought was never finished unfortunately for me. And someone stole the alloy gearbox so I lost all interest

Andy thanks for that - to be honest I dont know a whole lot about those. I suppose a 60s one would have a 427 badge

Another small detail is i need a double garage built at home so if my cousin builds his extention on the side of his house this year he will give me his double garage "that is in mint condtion"

            Im not that lucky though.

I'd like it to look exactly the same as the one pictured, i'll probably buy a complete shed or a shell as cheap as possible & take my time on it for a year or so.

Oi Yoshie - stop stealing my dreams !!!

I had the chance to buy a Shelby approved replica a few years ago but couldn't justify it ... It had a 289 engine and they let me fire it up in the showroom - the subsonics bouncing off the wall at tickover were enough to turn your innards to mush

I'm currently looking at 3-4 years of poverty putting my three kids through uni so all dreams of a mid life crisis motor are in cold storage

Life is too important to take seriously !

A friend of mine has a replica cobra almost the same as the one you pictured, it sounds awesome with a 5.7 small block burbling away, and yes you could buy a cobra rep for the price of a good restored mk2, wish I'd never sold my genuine mk2 harrier now but given the choice again I'd have a cobra

Although the escort (the one in the Photo) is a thing of beauty it shames me to state i would have the Cobra
                            Always room for more power!!!!

Funnily enough, despite the Cobra being pure sex, if I had to choose one to own and use, it would be the Escort - as long as it's BDA engined
