I filled up to the brim in Camborne which is 420 miles from my house, I drove at a steady 75mph indicated which is 70mph on the GPS. It took 60 litres to fill to the brim again just outside Leeds which is 50 miles from my house.
420 - 50 = 370miles
370 miles / 60 litres = 6.166 miles per litre
6.166 x 4.55 = 28.05 mpg
15/16 is very low even for a Surf. Mine manages that or better around town in 4WD with snow on the road.
I was getting the same from my 2.4, but then I had to rag the £uck out of it to get anywhere. I've no need to drive the 3.0 like I did the 2.4 but I do drive it hard.
Just got 605Km out of a full tank!! From just north of Aberdeen to Blackpool without a fuel stop and a few miles round the doors once I got there, that was almost overflowing to the light first coming on. Drove like a pussy, doubt it went over 2700RPM at any point and did not go over 75MPH sat at about 65 for most of the time. Came back today from Ulverston at 75 - 80 MPH all the way and I still have just under1/4 tank left, 526 KM. On a run I don't think it makes much difference if I sit at 65 or 80 MPH, if I push it above 85 however the economy plummets to stupid levels. Once had to get to Edinburgh from home ASAP and managed to nail a whole tank
I only ever get 300 miles to a full tank, but I do fill up as soon as light comes on, and re filling only 50-55 Ltrs meaning there is still at least 10ltrs left in. (3.0 Man 2nd Gen)

Thats 27mpg which is quite respectable for a 2nd Gen 3.0

Ben
There's my problem, anything under 85 feel like I'm parked.
Mind you, now the snow has cleared I'll be blowing the cobwebs off my 1100.
