Hold out, I know it's a recession and all that jazz, but that's a #### take. If you're any good, he'll come crawling back.
Or maybe it's just a starting point for a negotiation

he's Been on the phone this morning. Needs to discuss terms. Just said my terms have now changed. New rate is £22.50 an hour, plus 25p a mile. I hold all the technical data from GM and Ford. Also the guy has absolutely no facilities whatsoever. Apart from handtools and jacks, 8 ton axle stands, welder air tools...even two cut up railway sleepers...in short everything which is mine, all he can supply is an unheated unit. I've bent over backwards to help out, including driving a limo ( which I detest). He was really in a serious situation with VOSA and faced being slung off the road. Spose the reward us to be sh1t on from a great height. Can't wait till work in Scotland takes off again...I'm taking the whole mob with me.

Edit: just took a call. New terms ain't acceptable...it can stay in bits then.

Well I never. Just took another call. We've settled on the £5 an hour reduction Being forgotten about,PLUS another£5 per hour ...PLUS 25p a mile(worth about £25 a day just in fuel). I'm still going to do what's needed over the next couple of weeks then start on the massive amount of private jobs that have just appeared...funny how it all goes sometimes.

                    Two burst radiators
                    two steering boxes
two new handbrake assemblies to build from scratch(each fitment past the actuator is bespoke)... I'm going to get a couple of weeks out of it...and he's now paying in advance, seems me calling him a devious cheating, fckwit helped.

Was hoping to at least start on the clocks today Neal, BUT it's now ####ing down and I'm still not over the gastric flu! (just been to quacks about my breathing and got to sort out a chest x-ray at DGH next)

I'd come give you moral support but I've decided to keep myself in isolation for a couple more days, I'd hate to give this shite to anyone!
