  • battery info please, not dual

My battery is suddenly knackered on my 1990 2.4 (single battery), I’m purty sure its not the alternator as she wont even charge on a charger.
Shame cuss the one that was in it cost the last owners 260 squid.
Anyway, I obviously don’t want the same battery, as that’s silly money so what battery do I want and how much roughly will it be.
Before you ask I have searched other threads but everything I have found was for dual batteries.
    Cheers
    Will

Do you know that, with a 50 character limit, it's

just phoned local motorfactor and they say the surf battery is 550 cca / 70ah and they dont do cca 650 or above.
                      would 550cca work?

The dual battery set up is around 700 cca total, so 650cca for a single is the minimum really, otherwise the battery won't last long trying to start a diesel, especially in these freezing temperatures.

Do you mean convert to a dual battery set up?

You'll need a battery cable long enough to go from + to + on each battery, then a seperate earth cable to attach to the inner wing on the second battery.

                              yer a dual battery instalation.

so it simply + to + and - to car.

i was going to get the kit out of one of the 3ltr's and then further down the line get a isolator.
