SVO is now almost 90ppl (costco last week)!! not much of a saving! I tried wvo but I am going bio, I live in a flat but have a balcony, thats where my reactor is going to sit, I just done £80 on diesel working only 3 days last week, full weeks work could be £100-£130!! So for me its well worth the effort.

Like everything else people catch on to a good thing then the prices go up, soon veg oils will be up to same price as diesel at the pumps.Originally posted by Scorpion View PostHoly cr@p, that's shot up in price since I last bought some!
Then when more people start using Bio fuels and then the government will find a way to tax that too and prices will go up to diesel prices.
Best thing is to find a fuel you can use and keep quiet about it.

Its to do with poor crops in other countries (ktc stuff is mainly GM soya), but having seen the rising prices domestically produced rape is also shot up, on the vegoildiesel forum there is a chap that buys or grows rape and he reports the prices every couple of days, went from £270-£340 per ton in a week.Originally posted by Scorpion View PostHoly cr@p, that's shot up in price since I last bought some!
At the moment there is a 2500 litre duty free rule, this is per year and relates to veg oil based fuels used as road fuel. Gennies, heating and off road use, you can use as much as you like with out paying any thing on them.
Last time they tried to tax private bio producers (who only make for themselves and don't sell any to anyone) they spent a load of money and only collected tax totalling to half the outlay!
Time will tell what will happen when fuel prices keep going up.l'm FAME-ous!

I did a trail on kero in my ole 1990 2.4 (Mechanical pump) @ 70Veg -30kero for about 24 months back in 2003 -2005 n no probs reported ...Originally posted by Chainsawdude View PostHow about mixing heating oil with veg oil?
One time i actually used 50% heating oil and 50% hydraulic oil in my VW transporter and it seemed to run fine, dunno how the surf would take to that mix tho.

Kero is illegal as road fuel and if you get dipped you will pay a heavy fine. You can use it off road but not as road fuel. Be careful!Originally posted by Diezel Weazel View PostI did a trail on kero in my ole 1990 2.4 (Mechanical pump) @ 70Veg -30kero for about 24 months back in 2003 -2005 n no probs reported ...

thats my only gripe aswell, £60+ compared to the £25-£30 in any other petrol car iv hadOriginally posted by Spoggle View PostOnly place Ive seen selling Bio near here is at Witton Le Wear on th A68. Its way cheaper to buy Derv at the local supermarkets though. The only problem with the Surf is the £60+ that I put in the tank every week

Phoned this lot today, the very (un)helpful lady on the phone couldn't tell me whether it was a blend or 100% Bio. I asked the cost and was told £1.28 per litreOriginally posted by Scorpion View PostThese were all I could ever find mate.
