Put 5-10% petrol mixed in with bio and it will stop it gelling when it gets really cold.l'm FAME-ous!

I haven't put any in the Surf yet but my mate has a pretty sweet top range Discovery (new) and a new A6 Audi and runs both on 100% bio. I don't think he'd put it into prob £70k worth of motors if there was anything to worry about.
I might look into it, I think he gets like a 1000ltr barrel & pump delivered to the door to pump at his own leisure from the garage? Sou d's awesome to me.
What are the prices then for a ltr of Bio??www.vidamusic.co.uk

I've been running mine 100% bio since september and not looked back. I check the seals regularly with no signs of leaks so far. I did a break down of costs, in the winter I'm producing at 26p a ltr. summer will be 20p a ltr. because of the winter additive which really works. Even in this weather there haven't been any starting probs. Cetane improver helps too, fuel consumption goes right down with it added, without it it's like someone has put a bullet hole in the tank.
Oh and my head's cracked. Nothing to do with the bio. I've known there was a problem for over a year but because of the very cold weather (I think) it's decided to give up. It was still running but used too much coolant. I took the head off and there are lots of small cracks but one major one on No. 3. So I've ordered everything from RT new radiator etc. £1360 latter...
In the meantime I'm driving a lexus GS300 sport, No good in Snow!!!
Everyone in the family wants the surf back asap. My wife loves it, the 2 yo twins keep saying they "want to go in Daddys big monster truck" or "No not Gannys car Daddy!" and the husky because he can come with us everywhere we go in the surf.Last edited by Long way 'round; 19 December 2010, 13:03.
