All that work and he kept the crappy Soarer exhaust headers!

my kind of look vince all polished alloy and stainless
the last bike i built was like that - no mild steel on it, even the frame was stainless.
takes a long time to get a finish like that and i had the use of a pro polishing shop with all the gear.

the headers are pants - youd think he'd have got some stainless ones done to finish it off.

im thinking about a 2 door surf lifted on 33's with the back windows all filled out as a tool truck for work. ill need a v8 of course so start collecting the polishing mops

Blanking the back windows is great but go for a FOUR door!
I use mine for work (since my van went bang) and having the two side doors is crucial to get at stuff in the back! Without the side access the surf would have been sold after a week to get me a van!

That is one very sweeeeet looking truck Vince!
When you doing one like that?

I thought about doing that as well....

Maybe keep the nearside passenger door as an opener but replace the glass with steel like the others?

a 2 door saves welding up back doors - it's a lot less work and means i can do the body in a weekend (except the filler and paint).
i was going to use the back seat area for big jump batteries (24v system) and an inverter for 240v so i dont need side access.
i had a van but it spends more time stuck in the mud than working due to the weight it was carrying.

It doesn't look very economical, most of the fuel seemed to be coming out of the exhaust!

But I don't like the wood, I would make it into a panel van, wood is for boats.

s/s headers are available for the 1uz-fe engine which do improve the gas flow but are known to glow cherry red when driven hard.

Yep, the 4.7 Tundra headers fit. About 300 quid for a pair though.

Donkeys years ago one of my brother's mates had a Moggy with a tweaked 2.5 Daimler V8 under the bonnet - I think it fed the wheels via a jag axle and he used to run it at Santa Pod. Unfortunately because of the short wheelbase it had a disturbing habit of spinning if the throttle was planted too hard - that's the whole car not the wheels ...
