  • Car for the wife sir.

We all have this problem, (except wimmins i spose)
What car to get the wife.
My mrs can't drive her pickup in the snow cos it's only 2 wheel drive (rear) and won't go uphill or around corners.
I was planning on a FJ40 for her but that fell through.
We had a good pro and con session about what car to get and guess what she come up with?
    A Zastava 750 Fica.
I am on the lookout for one now.
Good chance of becoming a classic I think.

I must admit I like the styling, cute, maybe.
They are good in snow apparently because the rear engine and box are right on top of the rear driven wheels,
There are plenty for sale here. Zastava is the same as Yugo.
I am just on the look out for a good original one.

              From wikipedia...

"Zastava 750 is widely known by its nickname "Fića" (Фићa) or "Fićo" (Фићo) in Serbian, Croatian and Bosnian, by "Fičo" or "Fičko" in Slovene and by "Fikjo" (Фиќо) in Macedonian. The nickname "Fića" comes from the main character of a comic published by the newspaper Borba during the first years of the car's production"

Superb snow machine is my 1989 panda 4x4... Drive down closed roads...no wheel spin no slipping.... Still used all over the alps.
                .... Which was nice.

My wife's car of choice is a 3 litre, intercooled 3rd gen Surf ...

My car of HER choice is a Ford Fawcus estate - and yes I do have a thumbprint on the top of my head !

Funny enough the Mrs has a Fjord Farcus and loves it.

She gets to drive the Surf when i am incapacitated after a few sherbert dib dabs and hates parking it.
