I was repairing Shirley's youngest's GHDs the other day; the part that was gubbed had crimp connections holding the wire to it, rather than soldered connections. Anyone got any idea what they're called and where I can get them?

No, I'm just crap at soldering; the crimp looked easier!

Tried them, that's where I buy the bits to fix the GHDs, they hadn't a clue.

If this is serious, I would solder anything rather than crimp if the thing being soldered did not need to be removed regularly. That applies to hair straighteners, speaker connections, anything really!!

Do the solder job - if you're really crap then get some other mug to do it

                    PS
GHD's are over priced crap, Babyliss are far more reliable !

I would have thought you could get crimp connectors from a motor factors... or ask the local hairdressers I suppose...

I checked on wiki, but couldn't find anything, no doubt someone else with more experience will be along shortly
What have I told you about thinking Erroll

I have the manual in the surf somewhere, it gives you a full diagnostics break down & rebuild plus part numbers.
If its not broke don't fix it.

No idea what a GHD is but I get all my wiring stuff from here

                            http://www.vehicle-wiring-products.e...e/homepage.php

Personally, I wouldn't bother with the coloured pre-insulated type. I use the non-insulated bullet and spade types which are the same as most car manufacturers use.

There's squillions of different crimp types. I've piles of them in my cellar and might be able to help. Any chance of a picture?
