snorkel maker wanted

ok,i want a snorkel making,ive seen some of your lots on here and most look pretty good,besides saving a small bundle of cash,so is there anyone on here anywhere near me{obviously il travel} who coud make me a nice snorkel fitted for a reasonable amount of cash.hope so.let me know please.come on its christmas

Id offer to help but I think kidderminster is a bit far for you . Mine cost me about 30pounds to make.

If you need to get wet before you fit your snorkel, just disconnect the air intake from behind the nearside front headlight. This raises the height at which you suck in water by at least 6 inches.
I've had my 3rd Gen with a bow wave at bonnet height and no problems, ask any of the Norfolk day out guys (and gals). Ok so I got stuck in mud a few times.....!

that one looks sweet,i really dont fancy myself at cutting the wing up,no room for error is there,so someone whos done it would be better

yeah il be doing this if i go out b4 a snorkel is fitted,i had a bad exparience with a bigger than expected puddle last outing

cuting the wing is easy

make bracket to fit pipe to roof pillar
then fit pipe

and sile a cardboard sleeve (corn flakes box)down the pipe cutting it until it sits onto the wing .i coved the wing with masking tape so that i could draw around the cardboard slave ,this gives you the shape of the hole ,and its a funny old shape.then remove the pipe / wing and cut with a jig saw ,cut inside the lines fit wing and try pipe for size you will have to enlarge the hole .remembering that you can remove but you cant replace

and thats the hard bit .i removed the part of the air intake that lives behind the head light cut a hole in the inner wing and well you can see from the pics what i did .its all very simples




with out the LR top it cost me about £10
oh i forgot ,to finesh the hole i used some rubber water pipe the stuff that is connector to the water jets that wash the windscreen.just put a slit in it and slide it around the hole,finishes it off a treat

Use a nibbler instead of a jigsaw if you want to be a bit more careful.

but at the end of the day as long as the hole isnt too big you can finnish off with a file then the rubber pipe covers everything
