      In 2WD it has to push the front wheels around from the back, in AWD it drives them from T/case. Not sure how much difference it would make to power use?

                      Well... yes... there is more losses in the drivetrain, but I imagine its not making a huge difference given the other stuff I mentioned.

                      You probably save more fuel keeping your tyres properly inlated.
