  • Gen 3 Winter Pack

    Hi All,

    What does it consist of?
I have two batteries and my fuel filter looks like this

Is this supposed to be a heated filter? Has the wires energing from the top but does not seem to get warm at any point. Could anyone please let me know, if it is a heated filter, how and when it is suppsoed to work.

    Cheers

    Ben

yes pretty sure that you are right the white cables at the top are for the "heated fuel filter".

Looks like a heated filter head to me. what's going on with the air filter though? Looks like a good position to have it if you want to feed your engine the hottest air possible, all the time.

DP. Unless 3rd Gen ones have the water detector wiring fitted at top of housing?

The air filter is in the same place nearly as a 2nd gen.

The winter pack will have the rear heaters also, twin battery setup and sometimes the heated fuel filter. Most of the time the heated fuel filters don't work anyway so don't worry to much about it

                Mine isn't here:

If you have a fuel heater there is a relay for it in the main relay/fuse box in the engine bay. It is labelled.

Yeah, think the bottom left relay is for filter head heater - but it is a different layout to 2nd Gen. There are not as many relays and fuses in there as on mine!

Cool, how & when should it work? Read something about a vacuum hose / switch but cant see anything connected to the filter.
