      Tony / Apache,

Thanks very much for that. All is now clear!!

Just need to find a bit of open flat gripy space to try driving in a circle to see if the lock is working. I'm hoping it is just the light on the dash that is goosed. Is it a purely mechanical thing or is there some electronics that engage the lock. Definitely goes into low range and high range 4wd when selected, is there any chance that it could be doing this but not locking?

      Sorry for the stupid questions!!

      Cheers

      Ben

I dont quite follow. In each box it mentions "centre diff-lock".

Does this mean that the front and rear wheels are always directly connected or does one of the modes allow the front wheels to travel at a different speed to the rears?
        Oh Nana, what's my name?

Tony do you fancy doing some work on my Surf early next year? Think Im needing lower ball joints and some knowledgeable mechanical inspection.

It wont get in your shed though it measures about 2.2 metres.
