Releasing A/C gas into the air IS illegal, but so are lots of other things people just 'do'

No one should really be telling you to OK just release a whole systems worth of gas happily into the enviroment, its isn't right. But it doesn't hurt to press the valve in quickly, it won't kill you, and most don't have any gas left.

But then this isn't a serious thread anyway....
