Spoiled? How's that? Was it better when you used to go and watch football standing up? With no roof over the stand. And if you wern't in a large enough group, get kicked to **** on the way home.

I like it better now there's some money in the game, Nice seats, take the family, edible food, less safety worries.

Why do people always moan about how much money players get? If they were not worth it, they wouldn't get it.

Football is a form of entertainment as well as a sport. You have the bad guys (booooo) and the good guys (yaaay)

Football is a great game, if it wasn't, it wouldn't generate the sort of money that it does.

The high wages are a reflection of how good the player is.
If you could get 150 grand a week for doing what you do, good on you.

I love football, I go to a match every other week (every home game) The whole family goes and it is a couple of hours well spent. IMO.

I have never been to a world cup game. I have been to several European Championships Supporting England, I would have loved England to have got the World Cup.
I agree to an extent. Football is a great game, from kids in the park to Premier League. However, what is ruining the game is there are too many overpaid, underworked and over rated PRIMA DONNAS (why we couldn't do anything in the last World Cup!), there are too many underpaid and under rated PLAYERS, and whilst most football fans are decent people just like us folks here, too many are dickheads.

Having said that, this vote was a no brainer. Look how long it has taken us to get the Olympics - and we only got it cos they were running out of different countries, look at Eurovision (please don't hit me!) no matter how good we are we will always recieve "Nil points", and back to football, whenever there is crowd trouble, it's always English fans of course!! B0ll0cks, take a look at Poland, Turkey, etc and see what real crowd trouble is!!

Now take the same countries that have voted against us, and look at who they turn to when they want aid, financial help, military assistance etc!! Like I said, a no brainer!!

          Cheers, Nick

Yup, Always hate the richer countries.

I know we were not that good at the last world cup.

But, be honest, did you expect more?

How many times have we made the final? Once.

I watch 1st Division football here in Serbia. It isn't a patch on the Premier League. There's no money here.

The Premier league is the Best. No argument.

I think the only reason England put in a bid to host it is because the host nation qualify automatically and it would take some pressure of the English national team thus helping prevent another national embarrassment. Will watch world cup / big games but can't stand it on a weekly basis or most sports for that matter, gets far too much coverage.
Can't understand why anyone not getting paid for it would choose to do so like Sunday league etc. Running around a field at 9AM on a Sunday morning in foul weather wearing shorts kicking a bag of wind about, making monkey noises at each other and getting all het up about it. FFS what's all that about?

              No great loss IMO

I like the game too, but agree with the prima-donna comment. I'm a red, but look at Torres! He's in a group supposed to be amongst the fittest sportsmen around, yet the slightest little twinge and he's 'broken' AGAIN! Just play through it you floppy haired pansy!

Same goes for the likes of Drogba who plays for some cheatin' bunch of southern gets. One of the strongest men in football yet tumbles to the ground screaming like a poof if so much as a breath of wind hits him at the wrong angle.

Thats what's wrong with footy today. Too much play acting and 'princess' behaviour. Look Fernando, you're a talented bloke, toughen the fuk up and start scoring goals again you limp spanish fool!

Haha, I grew up watching 'Chopper' Harris, Mickey Droy and Vinnie Jones play for Chelsea.
Not really a place for them in todays game.

So, was George Best a 'Prima Donna'?

There is a clip of him against Chelsea, he is on a wonderful dribble, and as he is near the penalty area, Chopper comes in, on a slide tackle designed to remove legs below the knee.
                        Bestie rides it and scores.

                        I love football.

                            Hi Slobo'

What i mean by spoilt is that they just get too much money. They don't live in the real world. It doesn't matter to them if they qualify for the world cup or not if they get paid £150,000 a week dose it ?

Another reason that we cant win the world cup is that there are too many foreign players playing in this country. It ought to be limited to a few players per team. Not only would it be better for the game but there would be a few less of the gits here !

I bet its not the easiest place to get out of or into right now, especially in a Honda Jazz. and I seem to remember that bit of Midlothian suffers more than others when it snows. Ive seen a good 4-6" of snow in Penicuik when just up the road Loanhead has had a light dusting.

I think she said there was about 2' snow outside her house. She had to walk to Penicuik to get a bus at 6am to get to work to look after the ''sick chicks' (12 hour shift)..I wish i hadn't sold the black hilux...I should have given it to her....

I am ###### glad we did not get it...

Look how many billions the ###### Olympic Games is costing us....we are never going to get back anywhere near the outlay back!

Same goes with the the World Cup.....we would spend shed loads of money that the government don't have to get a fraction back!

I would rather see the money go to keeping people in jobs, schools and healthcare!

If the media had not hyped it all out of proportion it would be such a bad thing, even if England had gotten the votes promised we would still not have beaten the Russians.

Saying that the Russian Mob must have spent a fortune bribing all the officials!
