Also, I was nowhere near hitting the other car, I was already past the car as I hit the shit but wasn't prepared to swerve in front of him/her cutting them up and knew I wouldn't slow enough to fall back in their rear, so don't be jumping to the wrong conclusions, the only one at any risk was myself n the wife. As I stated in the first post the road was clear, yes it was wet, but both lanes were clear up till the curve in the carriageway. H

i still find it strange and recless you allow yourself to put your wife in danger as well as yourself and other road users too, whats the wife done to dererve that?

i Can read just fine and i also dont drive so fast i have to drive over the Obstickle on Any Curve even without my wife in the car (enough said from me) i think the 4th post on this thread says it all

I dont want to inflame anything, but as an insurance lowering / H&S deal when I used to drive hired 4x4s offroad abroad in my old job, we did an advanced driving course run by the police.

One of their basic rules was that for any given road conditions, you should be able to pull to a stop in the length of road you can see is clear of hazards.

I seem to remember its somewhere in the highway code too.

Just be brave and 'fess up you cocked up and move on. We've all done it, and hopefully learned from it.

Driving to fast for conditions, not paying attention to road ahead, not in control of vehicle, putting others in danger...

If you had lost it and collided with the other car, you'd have really been in the crap.

Its all in the that post, take the abuse like a man, you deserve it.

You got caught out by the conditions, it happens to us all and you learn from it. But don't try and defend it.

I pulled into the overtaking lane and was just coming abreast of the old boy when up ahead the road was piled with ploughed snow reducing the dueller to the one lane. I was eating a chicken butty at the time and first touched the brake, realized I wasn't going to stop, I lifted straight off squashed my sarnie into the steering wheel and did a very bumpy/wobbly slither through the slushmount till I could get back in the inside lane.

The missus was laughing her daft head off and god knows what the old boy was thinking as I bounced by him but at least we didn't crash out or lose control, if it'd been in a car I think we'd have been pretty sorry by now, I'd love to know what the council plower was thinking about when he decided to abort the mission mid curve and leave all that $hit for me/someone to hit. H
