    Hello everyone,
Well after having the range rovers which entailed keep repairing things then the pajero's ok but underpowered and a bit lightweight i am going for the surf which i love the look of and after reading this forum has definatly persuaded me great members on here giving advice....

i have learned from here the 3.0l is best to get for torque and less head problems but i would like a manual gearbox...

So my question is are the manual gearbox's as reliable as the auto's ?

    Thanks in advance all

In short yes but they are not as common as the autos so you may need to do a bit of searching.

Hello Marc. The easiest way, is to get a UK 4Runner. The majority of them are 3.0tdi manuals. Not as many toys as a Surf, and they've seen all their winters over here. look carefully for rot. Eventually you WILL find a good one. Good luck....Cheers....Mick.

          Thanks Mick,

i just prefer a manual in bad weather and of course better fuel consumption
