    at refurbing wheels

picked up the rims a couple of weeks ago and they were a litle shabby

never refurbed wheelsbefore, but see it just a little like bodywork, degrease it, rub it back, clean it all up, wipe it, prep it and paint

was a bit too cold to be doing them all today tho (and too cold really for the paint) but i was keen to see how they came up

    i'm pretty pleased with them

ok - not the most exciting thread in the world, but kept me quiet this am

    Before - looked like this

    then after

just need to do the other 3 now..

    ###### hell that looks excellent! Wish I'd never sold 'em now What stuff did you use to get it like that ? (wire wool, wet 'n dry ??)

treated em like i would on body work...

degreased em first with some Jizer fluid

cleaned up with wire wool to get a good key, got through quite a bit

then a quick coat of etch primer - followed by several coats of halfrauds spray can 'steel' coloured wheel and trim spray

never really tried doing a wheel before as on all my previous motors if they were good they stayed as is, or i'd send em off to pristine wheels for a full refurb

quite pleased with these, ok, they do look better from 6' away

Good stuff! - I've got to do a set of 4 soon so will do pretty much the same. Going for a gloss black finish.

          Great job there!

          Reminds me of 'Wheeler Dealers'.
