Do most motorbike electrics run on 12V ?

As title. I'm pretty sure they do but have only ever owned 1 motorbike. (CZ175 I was stripping to turn into a cafe racer style bike but ran out of funds )

No, some are 6 volts.

Thought you might answer this one Andy.

That's why I asked - most heated grips available on ebay say will fit all motorcycles. None seem to list voltage.

Will email the seller and check.

I think grips are all 12 volts, but no harm in checking.

I'm looking at these to go behind my surfs mirrors to come on with the heated rear window. (will sandwich between the old mirror and a replacement glass with some sort of sticky goo..)

Hey, thats a damn fine idea!

I'm guessing as its just a simple printed element it will work on 12v or 6v. It will just be warmer on 12v. Get one, measure its resistance, and assuming the resistance doesn't change enormously when its hot, thats the wattage easily worked out.

Have just bought 2 sets on buy it now for £9 delivered. Will let you know how I get on (ie if my mirrors drop off in balls of flame )
