  • Marstons 'Old Empire' IPA

A rather decent beer from a 'large' mainstream brewer. I dont have many (and at 5.7% probably shouldn't!) but when I do buy it, I always enjoy it.

What's the taste like in comparison to 'old peculiar' ?

      Totally different!

A much lighter, slight hint of citrus flavour with a dry hoppy aftertaste. Very easy to drink for a strong brew.

Always remember that as a bit 'edgy'. Will have to try it again to be sure

              I like your style !

My daughter works in a pub that allegedly serves the best pint of London Pride in the area - Pride's one of my faves but I haven't tasted it there cos they sell Gales HSB ...

Our local is about to take deliver of Sarah Hughes 'Snowflake' A nice winter warmer @ 8% ABV, and, Dark Star 'Imperial' @10.5. I can see a few wobbly walks home.
Dark Star are a Brighton based indi. brewery with some really excellent ales.

There's usually a few Dark Star brews at our late summer beer festivals.

Keep an eye out for Sarah Hughes Ruby. It's been 'beer of show' at one of the recent big festivals. Very nice!
